System Families

PreviousLoadable FamiliesNextURSA

Last updated 5 months ago

System families are DirectShape elements that cannot be edited and do not show up in the family browser in Revit. They can still be scheduled and assigned of parameters.

Importing as system families

Some can only be imported as system families.

Import as system families will force all families in the .beam to be imported as system families no matter the category.

System families do not update automatically. Delete manually previously imported elements before reimporting.

The force update option deletes all system families of the same type in the document before importing. Use it carefully.

Splitting system families

Geometry can be imported individually by choosing split geometry. They will still carry the parameters and name of the family.
