# File Header

IFC file header

The **File Header** tab fills in the header at the top of the IFC file. It records who made the file and with what software.

| Field                | What to enter                                                      |
| -------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Description**      | What the file contains, for example `Architectural model, Stage 3` |
| **Author Name**      | The person who made the model                                      |
| **Author Email**     | Their email address                                                |
| **Organization**     | The company or practice                                            |
| **Authorization**    | Who approved the file for issue                                    |
| **Application Name** | Filled in by BEAM                                                  |
| **Version Number**   | Filled in by BEAM                                                  |
